Follow water beyond the gutter
Overflow and poorly placed discharge can repeatedly wet walls, splash soil onto stucco, cross patios or concentrate water near the building. Gutters collect roof water; outlets and downspouts determine where it goes next.
Respect the property grade
Downspout placement should consider hardscape, landscaping, doors, walkways and visible grading. Gutter work does not replace drainage or foundation evaluation when ground conditions remain problematic.
